About Me

I used to be a veterinary technician and have also been a dog groomer. I have experience caring for dogs and cats and all sorts of rodents and fish and horses, cows, and goats. I’m accustomed to administering oral medications and topical treatments.

When I was a kid, I became a member of The Fur-Bearers, and was involved in their efforts to ban leg-hold traps. (Illegal in Washington State—yay!—but still legal in Canada and other areas—boo!)

In the 90’s, I created Animalovers (a non-profit that doesn’t exist anymore) which partnered with the Boys & Girls Club to teach kids about animal issues. Also in the 90’s, I created naturoPETic, a non-profit with a website educating and promoting natural care for dogs and cats (back then dog and cat nutrition was abysmal.) I’m happy that today there is more awareness about pet nutrition, and healthier options on the market.

Doing volunteer work for pet adoption orgs opened my eyes to many people’s struggle to find a trustworthy, competent person to watch their pets. I also know how important exercise is, and, with dogs, anyway, they need to get out and run, or at least walk. I hope to help these dogs and their people.
